Soothing Smoothie
Serving: 1 Time: 15 minutes
Ingredients
1 ripe banana (option to cut up banana and freeze it prior for a thicker smoothie)
1 cup frozen berries (such as strawberries, blueberries, or a mix)
1/2 cup low fat Greek yogurt
1/2 cup milk (low-fat dairy or plant-based)
1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for added sweetness)
1 tablespoon chia seeds or flax seeds
1/2 cup frozen aloe vera chunks
Toppings
1 cup of heavy whipping cream
1/2 tsp powdered sugar or stevia
1 tsp vanilla extract
Directions
Peel the ripe banana and break it into chunks.
Place the banana chunks, frozen berries, frozen aloe vera chunks, Greek yogurt, milk, honey or maple syrup (if using), and chia seeds or flax seeds (if using) into a blender.
Blend all the ingredients together on high speed until smooth and creamy. If the mixture is too thick, you can add a little more milk to achieve your desired consistency.
Once blended, taste the smoothie and adjust the sweetness by adding more honey or maple syrup if desired.
Pour the smoothie into glasses and serve immediately.
You can garnish with fresh berries, a sprinkle of chia seeds, or a mint leaf for presentation, if desired.
Pour your heavy whipping cream into a measuring cup and add in powdered sugar or stevia. Using an electric whisk, frothier or pure arm strength and a fork, whisk your mixture until stiff peaks.
Dollop your whipped cream on top of your smoothie.
Enjoy!
